I'm rereading this because of the series on Apple TV. First season covers about the first quarter of the book. The changes they made are weird. The first one, however, was not surprising even if it was really annoying. They white washed Jules. In the book she described as having black skin and olive hair. In the show she's blonde white chick. She also seemed more upbeat in the novel.
