The war is definitely suspicious. Seems like it might not even be Parshmen at all, everyone could be framed. War seems to not feel real to most, and assassination was done by someone who cannot refuse and believes most things he is told. Suspicious.

Kaladin is an insanely complex character. I love the way his story is being told in time jumps, it’s slowly piecing together who he is for me. I know he led an army, i know he was supposed to learn to be a master surgeon, i know hes enslaved. But how he gets to any of those i have no idea and i love it. I would like to think that Syl is connected to his life as a child. Maybe thats how ressurection works now?

Sadeas being the man behind the torture that Kaladin is going through and almost killing himself over yet being so disconnected from it and really only seeing the slaves and soilders as a statstic that helps his warriors win is really crazy to read after the Honor Chasm scene and how emotional that was. Emotion as a driving force for good vs logic being used to rationalize undeniable evil deeds

Szeth is Shin - page 160 -“where people lived in mud and worshipped rocks? The man who had killed Jasnah’s father nearly 6 years before… had been Shin” “Shauka-daughter-Hasweth is the Shin philosopher that Shallan is studying

Were granted resurrection from the Heralds?

People die + come back in the beginning it seems but Shallan’s father is dead for real, what happened that people arent coming back anymore or was that just that rank of warrior that made a deal w some kind of entity? Very interested in the heretic sister of the king and why she has more energy/magic than others.

Literally exactly the book i needed rn the adventure and the departure from a comfortable rich life into a world with strange creatures and people. Shallan will have to grow on me as a character but i can absolutely see her changing a lot

This is written so ridiculously well im already invested. I love a good tortured soilder type and Szeth is giving exactly that
