Joyce is starting We Burn Daylight
Another mistake on my part. This is a fictionalized account of teen-agers in love in a situation involving a cult similar to the Branch Davidians. It is quite well written but I have spent a part of the last

I really enjoyed this novel, mainly because it was a very different Regency and as well done as anything by Lisa Campell.
He was known as the Silent Duke. Helena has been on the marriage mart for a few years, is shy and would prefer never marrying to be forced into a loveless marriage. A week after first meeting they are married to each other. This is their story.

Book 1, The Rake’s Lost Soul - 4 stars

Charity and her sister are out riding and spot a man in the River. When help arrive Felton is taken to Charity’s home to recover. Her parents, who were hoping to marry her off, are now forced to care for a man who has no memory of who he is or his past life. The plot is filled with twists and turns enough to please most readers.

This book is a history of the US Navy between the final days of WWII and the “end” of the Cold War. It is not something you can read in a long weekend. I have finished 25% now and plan to complete the entire book mainly because I have found it to be fascinating and enlightening. It is well worth reading even for those of us who aren’t historians. I will add to this when I’ve completed another 25%.

This book is a history of the US Navy from the final days of WWII to the “end” of the Cold War. It is not something you can sit down and read in a long weekend. At this point I have read approximately 25% of it and I have been reading it for over a week. It is remarkably well done and equally fascinating, however it is not something to scroll through. I will keep adding to this as I read on.

Joyce is starting Edge of the Woods
This psychological thriller is about the disappearance of an 18 year old girl that occurred at summer camp fifteen years earlier. A movie studio plans to make a film of the disappearance at the camp and they talk a group of adults who were the young people at the time of the disappearance, into participating in a weekend filming at the camp. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.

Joyce is starting Who Did You Tell?
Sorry, but after trying to read this literally for weeks, it got put in my DNF pile. I am generally plot and character driven and could not find anything to like about these people. Thanks to Net Galley and Ballantine for an ARC for an honest review. I’m just sorry that the book and I were not a good fit.

Joyce is starting Marc Kadella Mystery Series Vol 1-3 (A Marc Kadella Legal Mystery Book 20)
The Key To Justice (#1 in the trilogy) was at a minimum four stars. It was not only a Courtroom thriller, it encompassed the investigation into the culpability of the defendant along with an explosive ending that fit the story perfectly!

Joyce is starting The Bridal Chase
He, after a night of partying at a West Virginia casino, is kidnapped at their wedding ceremony. She, Elisha, the bride, goes after him. Each chapter deals with one side of the kidnapping. It is short and relatively direct. All in all, a not bad way to spend a rainy afternoon. Thanks to Net Galley and Black Opal Books for an ARC for an honest review.
