Only a couple chapters into this book, so I can't say much about content, but I'd just like to gripe about the cover. I was introduced to Seanan McGuire because I was reading a list/article about badass female characters who defied the popular T&A covers. "Rosemary and Rue", with Toby Daye in all her leather jacketed glory, was on that list. So I'm sad to see Verity Price in a slutty school-girl outfit on her debut.

Almost 200 pages into this book, and still no sex. BUT I'M NOT EVEN MAD. The writing is that good, the characters and plot both engaging. So far, two thumbs way up.

This book has all the things I love in it. Steampunk, the supernatural, mystery, alternate-history world building, and sexual tension. The writing and plot are both engaging. One of the few books I've picked up recently that I just can't stand to put down!
