Uneven. Two different stories that are trying to mesh but really don’t

Uh oh. Ali seems to be heading down a hockey smut romance. Writing has been very poor. She’s not the strongest writer to begin with, but usually she gives at least a cute FMC. Vibes are not vibing.

Incredibly witty and she switches character POVs so smoothly.

I am throughly enjoying the banter in this novel. Love the serious undertones lightened by the humour.

How to kill a mockingbird? 🤔 I’ll give it to 50%. I like the characters but not a fan of the story just yet

Umm.. A Time to Kill????

Bit tricky to get into. 3 different storylines that are just now coming together and clicking for me. The magic is an afterthought for me, at the moment. Right now a focus on patriarchy, power and control.

I don’t know if I can continue this

I’ve been at this for a week and it’s going nowhere. I’ve read another book in this time. Nothing captivating and the female lead’s emotions already irritate me.

The writing has pulled me in fairly quickly. I hope it continues.

One of the rare books where the show is better. Trying not to DNF but skimming through it.

Things are happening…but not happening? I don’t know how to put it any other way. All this other stuff going on and the main story from the end of Book 2 is kinda there? but kinda not the main story? What?!!! The one thing I’m sure on, is I wish my husband would tell me he worships me lol

Pacing is better this time around and the story becoming more expansive. 2 more books after this though I’m only partway through, I think I see where she’s going with this

Lots of action so far. Lots of turns in the story. Wish there was a map so things can be pictured.

I want to like this book but goodness, where’s the emotion? The fight scenes, the scenes of heartbreak. It’s not making me feel anything.

Bland! That’s the word I’m looking for. It’s bland.

Simple and straightforward. Character development but I think I would have like a more steady setting and more description. It is on the cusp of it.

I love his writing. Just cozy.

Very character focused which I’m quite enjoying. The background d of each character is well done. Also love how she axe the house a character, very creative

She does a really great job writing as a first person POV and a young kid at that. I wasn’t keen on the football section of the book though I understood it to be one part success though yet another failure

Starting to drag a bit. Parts of this could have been edited as there is a lot of repetition at the moment. If you’ve connected with the character, I’m not sure the repulsion is needed. If you haven’t connected with the protagonist by now, not sure why you’re at 50%!

Excellent writing style and from a perspective for a male tween! I’m at the point where he’s gone to stay at the McCobb’s. I see the movement in homes is associated with significant changes in life.

Breathtaking. What a wonderful protagonist. A beautiful mix of heartbreak but also freedom
