Reading this one chapter at a time. Finally, in chapter 6, something that stirs the heart. I would question Kate's mothering skills.

This is a thoughtful 2 pages a day of reminders of what is expected of a true Christian daily.

I started this a couple of months ago. I picked it up again. Not great writing but there's enough to want to see how things turn out.

Just beginning a group study here. It is insightful. With where things are in my community, this is going to be interesting. I still have hesitations about the author, but I do like some of the items she is addressing here.

Beautiful little tidbits to absorb before I sleep. Every few entries I find something that completely mirrors how I feel or what I'm dealing with. JM is very good at getting to the heart of things in just a few words.

I'm pleased with the straightforward look at the Beatitudes. Blessed are the poor in spirit for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs. A moving description of exactly who the 'poor in spirit' are and how Jesus speaks to them with love.

An in depth look into the Beatitudes and the teachings of Christ. I like the emphasizing of how important we are to God.

I started this book and study guide a while ago and decided to pick it up again. It is hitting some good points about the depth I want in my walk with God.

Jesus never knew sin until they placed that crown of thorns on his head. He was crucified as a man, bearing the sin of every man, from the beginning and for all eternity.

Without a doubt, these short one-page devotions are some of the best writing Max Lucado has ever done.

Lucado 3:16 Day 13 of 40-day devotional – Why did Jesus get in the boat? It wasn’t to catch fish. In the boat, after a boatload of fish. Peter doesn’t see the fish or the Rabbi. He sees Jesus the Lord. That is why Jesus got in the boat. I want Jesus in my boat. I want to see Him in my life, in the everyday duties.
This is some of the best of Max Lucado.

The book narrative I found to be so-so, but the devotions are exemplary. Every day I find a small saying to hold on to for my day. Every bit is yummy food for thought.

I'm into the devotions after the narrative and am getting much more out of it. John 3:16 is, in my opinion, the verse that says it all about who God is and what is important to Him. The devotion is all about the 'only begotten son'. I like that.

Half way through - I love reading these at night. Gives me something to take with me into my sleep.

Esther is always a wonderful character to see and relate to. She was incredibly human, but when God called her, She answered.

So many basic truths, it isn't as if I have forgotten them. I just forgot to remember them.
