It was very difficult and emotional to continue this book after I read the word “acquitted”. It reminds me a feeling that is so deep and ancient, the feeling of hopelessness as if nothing we do in this world matters after all. I have been in a groove of reading in the past few weeks. Today is the first time in a while that I felt avoidant towards a book because my fear of the ending has grew so large.
