As someone who studied marine mammals the cetology chapter cracked me up. Imagine you're from the 1850s and have no clue about whales and you pick up this book to a real "old man yells at cloud" moment where the narrator asserts that, nuh uh Lamarck, whales are fish, and also dugongs are not whales (spoiler alert: they are) bc they have a bad attitude. Priceless literature

Still enjoying this but some things, like the mention of Israel twice without a point and the making fun of "woke" millennial coworkers, are really rubbing me the wrong way :/
