So far this is one of the most weirdly forced and unbelievable books I have ever read

Diving head first into dark romance on a 5 hour drive because why not

My pet peeve with sports books is when they have a character who grew up in the foster care system but somehow do a very expensive sport professionally. NO ONE IS FORMULA 1 COMES FROM POVERTY. IT IS AN INSANELY EXPENSIVE SPORT FOR RICH PEOPLE. It always feels like lazy writing to give a character some sad backstory but it never makes any sense.

I gave myself some fun romances as a break and will now face the emotions again. Let’s see how my heart does.

Slightly more interested now but I wouldn’t be finishing this if it wasn’t an audiobook that is easy enough to follow while coding.

What do you mean the 19 year old NHL player went to a steakhouse and got wine?? You already talked about how he’s too young to legally drink earlier and now he is in a restaurant where people can obviously recognize him and has a glass of wine? Something tells me this wasn’t edited enough.

Something was missing in the setup of that first chapter. Those conversations did not sound like they were between people who had never met before AT ALL.

The first essay was very interesting but the rest if been a lot “I’m better than you and righteous and you should act just like me” which feels like the antitheses of the point of this book. I was hoping to get a more positive view of Christianity, especially Evangelicals but this did not do that at all. Will DNF.

I should probably read a book about christianity that isn’t inherently negative at some point so why not now?

I have never been more certain that men hate themselves, other men, and especially women more than I am at this moment while listening to this audiobook.
