There is something about the way Heather Guerre fleshes out her characters that's so satisfying. Their traumas/conflicts are not overbearing nor obnoxious. They simply exist. And they feel too real. You know when authors do a lot of research on a career + culture + horoscopes because they build this caricature of a FMC from a hodgepodge of quirks? Heather Guerre's FMCs are not like that. It's all so seamless with her

Jesus Christ. A subdued, introverted, just-pleasant hopeless romantic is killing me dead with his sweetness. I don't think I've ever read a book where I resonated more with the MMC than the FMC.
