Jesus Christ. A subdued, introverted, just-pleasant hopeless romantic is killing me dead with his sweetness. I don't think I've ever read a book where I resonated more with the MMC than the FMC.

There is something about the way Heather Guerre fleshes out her characters that's so satisfying. Their traumas/conflicts are not overbearing nor obnoxious. They simply exist. And they feel too real. You know when authors do a lot of research on a career + culture + horoscopes because they build this caricature of a FMC from a hodgepodge of quirks? Heather Guerre's FMCs are not like that. It's all so seamless with her

It's going so fucking good and we're barely halfway done. The level of goodness I'm getting from this book is normally 80-90% on others. I'm afraid of the shitstorm the book is gonna offer me next 😭 Heather Guerre is fast becoming my new favorite author, damn.
