This is interesting, but not that interesting. So far, I liked 1984 better in this vein.

Machiavelli! I forgot to add him to the wonderous list! There are a lot of things about him written here that I find really interesting!

So many characters we may or may not have heard of in history are here in this recap of the era of the Borgias. It just doesn't stop.

I was good before, but now it's getting even better. There's nothing like refuting the entire Borgia story as we know it - and look at that! The author is pointing out that this has been done before and IGNORED! I love it

This book is amazing and powerful. All those stories you have heard about the Borgias? Toss those theories. They were promoted by disgruntled parties initially and picked up because they were in writing by those who didn't know any better and "assumed". Meyer has gone through a lot of research. And Vlad the Impaler? Yeah. More to the story than meets the eye. It's all in here and I'm loving every detail.

This is a lot of material, but a page hasn't gone by that I didn't say, "I didn't know that!" Knowledge is a wonderful thing. This is not a frivolous read by any means, and it should be required reading in any religion or world history class in college. Awesome.

This is not your average book about the Borgias. It starts out farther back than you'd expect, and tells the stories of others who may be familiar to you, and yet it's not what you'd expect to hear. Constantinople is key to this book, as is much of the rest of the Balkans. I would say it's worth the read already.

This has been such a good book! Of course, I would expect nothing less of Gaiman. I highly recommend this to everyone, whether or not you're into fantasy.

So many lessons learned, intentional or not. The connection with the Norse gods throughout has been spot on and wonderful.

Night off equals reading time. I'm getting somewhere. I've felt a lot of insight hit me about so many things in this story. It's not just "fiction" to me. Neil knows things, and he writes about them in a sometimes peculiar but always enlightening way.

I wouldn't say I'm on a roll here reading. Work has been busy and challenging, but when I get the time, I most certainly immersed in this one.

It was a busy day. I didn't get to read like I have been doing. Neil, however, makes you want to read. I can't help it.

I love Neil Gaiman. Did I mention that? This is a great read. I'm having trouble sleeping at night because I don't want to put it down!

As always, pretty awesome to me. The entire set of philosophies involved rings true, not just for those in prison.

I'm still having a little trouble with the story. I realise the use of PD terminology helps others with the tone of the story, but it doesn't help me. It is frustrating at times, but I realy can't stop reading.

Well, we're okay with this one. I can identify. Also, it's a fast read. I'm surprised at John Green's command of the situation and both the sensitivity and insensitivity one comes across in handling this situation both from a survivot's POV and the POV of one who just plain isn't going to survive and knows it.

I'm going to make this a July read with some trepidation. I don't care that they made a movie out of it. I read Looking for Alaska and found it mediocre, but we'll try another of John's books and see what happens.

This is an easy read, too, and full of anthropological and archaeological information about little known civilisations and societies.

This is full of fascinating information. I knew about the Sioux, the Omaha, and a few others, but had never really looked at the tribes farther north. This is surprisingly comprehensive.

Slowly moving my head into geek mode again...there's nothing like a little anthropology every now and again to get you going.

I hear Kevin Spacey in my head when I read Atticus' words. And Atticus had the right, patient, and unfailing idea that no matter what, the truth needs to be heard.

This is a book that's a standard speaking about the South during a particular era. What I've discovered is that parts of it are also still true today. To say that it is timeless is an understatement.
