I'm annoyed at 30%. It's too whackadoodle, and I basically find all three of the main characters annoying. The premise is thin and the comedy just isn't subjectively my taste. The male narrator is not a favorite & I didn't really look before borrowing the book from Hoopla. I'm pretty sure I'm going to DNF this but I'll keep it borrowed for now. Shame, I've liked others by these authors.

I'm finally going in. The idea of these books scares me a bit! ;-) So far, so good, though....

Quitting for now. I just hate both the main characters, and their motivations don't make much sense to me.

Will I finish this book/listen? Hard to say. I was already finding it slightly annoying and then a trope I'm not down with was thrown in and I know the rest of the book be all about it. I hear the next book in the series is better so I might just skip to it? Sigh.

You guys. I just don't know. How is this book so highly rated while I am so very bored listening to it? I seem to have liked each book in the series less than the previous one. At this point I suppose I will finish since I'm 2/3 of the way done, but it makes me sigh.

... Why isn't this book over yet? I feel like it's over because I know who the guy is. Why doesn't Noely know? I mean, I suppose I could be wrong. But I don't think so. What I am is bored.

72% in, wondering if I'll make it through the next 28% w/out a dentist visit. It's cavity-inducing & I'm not engaged. I think I'm just not Joslyn Westbrook's audience. If you like cozy books w/ unrealistically nice heroes, you might dig her writing; the heroine started off all profane but it turns out she's just sweet. Sigh. More swearing, less cavities for me! Also not loving the male audiobook narrator. :-(

So far this is a waaaay guilty pleasure book. You know, where you feel a bit embarrassed about listening/reading? Yeah, it's like that. But the author, Lauren Rowe, reads the audiobook very well which is a good thing. I love it when a reader knows where all the inflections are supposed to go, and there's nobody better than an author at knowing her own book. I'll see where this one goes!

I've been busy making chocolate treats (bad hobby to take up when you've lost 100 lbs & hope to not gain it all back) & I'm already way behind on my yearly reading challenge! I recently bought the "Naughtiest Girl" series at Goodwill & I hope to up my stats by reading some kids' books. ;-) Do any of you do this sort of halfway cheating?

I know this book has 4* on Goodreads but it's so gimmicky. SO, SO GIMMICKY. I mean, for a gimmick (3 POVs and the third is the heroine's cat) it's done well, at least so far, all about cat vs. human sense of smell and such, and it's cute. It's just a lot. Also I get the idea this book could be 10% shorter just by losing some of the "pounding themes into the ground" tactic.

It's cute and all so far but I'm not loving the narration at all. Most of the characters not only sound the same but the narration is robotic. It's like Alexa or Siri is reading me this book. (I don't even have either of those; I'm just guessing.) So I'm hoping the narrator gets a bit more into the spirit soon, and that I do too.

So far... I hate it. But I'm behind on my reading challenge already so I'm going to keep listening. Maybe I should find an eBook copy since the male narrator makes me want to commit homicide. Possibly the "humor" reads better than it sounds on audiobook, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's just not for me. I hope the sexy bits redeem it for me...? (Wish me luck.)

I bailed early on the audiobook... this book doesn't lend itself to the audio format well at all. Also, I'm not loving it in any case. I like Evanovich's novels but this one's not for me.

So far I'm underwhelmed. Heroine Charlie seems too dumb and grammatically incorrect to be a journalist (albeit she's not yet successful, so that part's okay), and Elizabeth Hart might not be the right narrator for this audiobook. (Oh, and the plot is ridiculous and makes no sense.) Some funny stuff is keeping me hoping, though, so we'll see.

Fairly cute so far if cliched, but I'm not loving the narration on audio. I will say that this book is better than the one I abandoned to read it. Judgment reserved until I'm finished.

I can see how some people can't put this book down 'til it's over, but I'm savoring it. I read some, I put it down and let it sink in for a while, then I go back to it. There are tons of suspects and leads and it's a lot to take in since I'm not normally a mystery reader. It's so good, and it's super creepy without being graphic about it. I especially love both lead characters for being far more human than perfect.

I'm doubting I will ever like Dean. I see where he's coming from but that doesn't excuse the fact he's an abusive asshole. Rachel seems to be hated in GR reviews and I don't understand that. Do people really love their "alpha heroes" so much that any woman who wants more respect is a bitch? I put "alpha heroes" in quotes here because they often smack of 'asshole' rather than 'alpha' to me. These are not my ideal men.

I keep putting this down due to boredom... it's all very nice and sweet but every time I think there is going to be some conflict it's fixed right away which is awesome in real life but kind of a drag in a novel, you know?

Ugh, I just got really mad at BOTH main characters (and by extension the author, who seems to think I'd dig this sort of thing, which I don't). Sam went way too alpha and Tiel went way too doormat. Fingers crossed they're both redeemed for me by the end because right now I hate everyone. ;-)

We'll see how far I get with this one. I'm not much into paranormal or fantasy, and so far I'm not super impressed, so ... yeah, we'll see. It has some interesting elements and that's why I picked it up, but the characters (so far) are kind of blank slates to me.
