This is hitting so close to come, Ebby & Henry’s history, and my heart is on fire. I’ve literally said the same fucking words in the last week, and day, alone. 😮‍💨

I know it’s normalized for parents these days to just stick a screen in their toddlers hands to keep them out of their hair, but I’ve never read a book where it’s shown as a normal part of a character’s parenting… & I don’t like it 😅 It’s not good for developing brains & the author just throws it in willy-nilly like it’s the most natural thing in the world for parents to do. *ND kids not included*

I’m interested in where this is going, but it definitely feels like a big mashup of other various popular novels of the same genre- a nobody kid being swept into a magical world cause they are special and then trials to prove themselves worthy. HP (the beginning chapters SCREAMED ‘Yerawizard Harry’), Hunger Games (the kids having sponsors), even a bit of Mary Poppins

This is… now what I was expecting, and idk yet if it’s a good or bad thing…

I still have the side comics to read but like. This is the end of the main storyline. I’m going to miss these Janes! This has been such a fun series.
