I'd already listened to books 1-4 on audible but as the rest aren't part of the included books, I'm going to see hpw the rest are to actually read. These are available as part of Kindle unlimited.

I like the quirky characters and the basic storylines but this one is so buried in over the top (more so than usual) Wodehousian type wit that it's hard to read. Dear author, please tone it all down!

I'm tired of reading the Isle of Mann set mysteries - they all seem to repeat each other - and here's another one. I might come back to it in the future and hope I can find more of this series set elsewhere!

Droning voice and one story seems to run into the next. I keep trying to listen to more....

I got part way into the audiobook on audible but I keep getting a playback error so I haven't been able to continue.
It really wasn't what I expected so I may or may not try to finish it.

I've liked this series but this book is dragging big time and it's become a chore. I'm taking a break and hope to finish it sometime soon.

Just over half way through and it's really dragging. The book feels much too long and there is way too much yakking and explaining. I want to know what happens but get on with it already

I've given up for the time being. There was a murder near the beginning but since then, the author has chosen to wander off in varying directions not pertaining to solving the murder. Subjects vary from various topics from past books to long descriptions of the various villagers. I've been skimming to get to the "meat" and losing interest.
Dec 2021 - audiobook - I heartily agree with my earlier review.

I had quit reading this series because I stopped enjoying it. This usually happens when an independent female lead character changes, usually when they become serious about a man or get married. Time to try the next book and see what happens but I don't have high hopes.

I got this as a free audiobook so figured I'd give it a go.

Only a couple of chapters in and nothing but valid unlikable characters and some really strange phrasing. Not sure how far I'll get into this one if I don't like a single character.

Kind of draggy and more about the people surrounding the death than the mystery or the person killed. Not holding my interest.

Returned. to online library. Just not my type of book

I didnt finish it because the edition I had was terribly crackly.

I dont particularly like the narrator in this audio book. I'll try again soon

Re: The Sleeping Murders - the accent of Gwenda is terrible. Its supposed to be from New Zealand but it keeps wavering into a Southern US accent.

According to Goidreads, I read the 1st book and gave it 4 stars but even reading the synopsis now, I can't recall reading it. It mustn't have left much of an impression.
I'm finding this one is plodding along a flat line and I'm not enjoying it all that much. I'll see how it goes but It's in danger of not being finished.

I'm only part way in and can see it's going to be a bit of a slog. The archaic language is quite a guessing game and I feel like I'm barely understanding.

This is the 3rd book I've read in the series and they've just explained Zoe's family tree. I'm thoroughly confused as to how her grandmother is her grandmother. Did I miss something?

I really enjoyed the last couple of books but part way into this one and I'm just not feeling it. The love interest is back as well as the ex so I know it's got going to be one I enjoy. Angela has been a strong lead in previous books and as usual, when you start adding love to the mix, the strong female lead just isn't the same.
I'm putting this down for now and might pick it back up later.
