Pretty catchy, but it's hard not to recognize (in the series) a few elements pointing back to Tolkien's work.

That war was crazy. I am still amazed at how one nation like Germany, could drain all Europe and attempt and attack on the Soviets... Learned also some of Romania's part in it.

i love it! it makes me realize on how i can be convinced without being convinced, and helps me figure out some loose parts in my logic. therefore i decided today, i will write a review only at the second lecture. -- among the things that make it entertaining, are the various exercises used to make various points. now that i am aware of possible tricks i fall in the traps less easy :)

zu viel ein Liebesroman fur meinen Geschmack. Alle ringsum Semjonov und seine Frau sterben ihretwegen, und sie ziehen weiter unverandert... ziehmlich weit von der Wirklichkeit.

Es ist nicht was is gewohnlicherweise lese, aber es ist ziehmlich interessant und spannend. Ich mag nicht dass man mich immer wieder 'Freund' nennt.. ich bin nicht doch nicht zu der Sache verbunden, und will das auch nicht.. :)

I decided to structure and teach my course after this book. I so far like the structure a lot, and the many illustrative examples.

I've been reflecting on the (beauty of a) mathematical expression vs. explanation in words of the fact, such that people "can feel, without their having some deep understanding of mathematics". Surprisingly, I found something of this struggle in the preface of a Probab.&Statistics book for Computer Scientists :) It's always a relief to find others struggling with similar things and proposing some solutions

It's good, but I'm a little bit disappointed. Maybe I was expecting something too...spectacular, given the reviews

when i got it in my mailbox and first checked its looks, i was totally disappointed. i thought it's a book full nasty formulas and details i won't be able to understand, but getting started proved me wrong, and i rediscovered the charm of Feynman's writing/explaining science
