I really love the atmosphere of this book. The dark and foggy academy setting is 🤌 The mcs also had a Gilbert Blythe and Anne Shirley moment and I loved it ☺️

DNF @ 52%. I can’t take another reference to Tom Selleck, his mustache, how much the fmc thinks he’s hot, how she dreams about him, etc. He was mentioned 48 times!!!

I want more books with soft and kind female main characters like this! I’m so tired of the trained assassin since birth fmcs in all fantasy! 😂

I was ready for the story to be done at 50%. I feel like it should’ve wrapped up sooner and I’m finding it hard to want to pick it up throughout the day.

I was really excited for this but so far the pace is pretty slow and I’m finding myself a bit bored 😕

Re-read because I love this book so much! And I have since caught so many details I missed before the plot twist!

I don’t know why, but the constant cartoonish pirate speech from the FMC is aggravating me hahah. Like, “Ye scalleywag” type stuff but said in all seriousness 🥴

I find myself so confused. I also really didn’t like the side characters 🤨

This is such a cozy fall read. So many autumnal details that were portrayed so well. 🍁 I’m not a fan of the language and innuendos. There are quite a few grammatical errors too. It’s lookin’ like a decent 3 star read for me.

DNF @ 54%. Phew I understand the author’s intention with the messages in this book, but it’s just too heavy for me to keep reading. Please check the content and trigger warnings or feel free to message me.

DNF. The romance is “distant” cousins. I don’t care how distant they are…they have the same last name. I cannot do this 😅

I love this FMC. She is so strong amongst all these ungrateful people who just want to use her.

Ehhhh, that sudden conclusion was a little lame to be honest. I think I had higher expectations. But cute story nonetheless.

DNF by chapter 2. There were so many lusty thoughts and descriptions I couldn’t take it anymore. The 4th sentence of the book already had a typo so I was immediately annoyed lol. I also eye-rolled at the word “unalive” being used. Just not for me.

DNF. There’s nothing precisely wrong with the book but I’m barely past halfway and finding myself tuned out and bored with the story. I feel like the FMC lacks a personality I want to connect with.

I’m really tired of the grumpy/snobby/spoiled/cruel FMCs in books. Why can’t we have more soft and sweet heroines? I’ve been DNF-ing so many books lately because the FMCs have been insufferable. Another one bites the dust…

Instant ick for the MMC to have had a longtime mistress he only recently did away with 😵‍💫

It started strong but now is extremely slow and drawn out. I feel like every chapter is just the same thing happening in different words. 😴

Again, the banter is great but the FMC is a pathological liar. I really wish I could root for her more but it’s just annoying how she lies about every little thing.

The banter is 10/10 but the FMC is kinda insufferable.

DNF @ 68%. I wanted to like it, but the time jumps got annoying. It’s one of my pet peeves to skip events, weeks, and important relationship developments.
