It's just kind of meh

Just can't get into it

Beginning chapter 8: I do like this book. I think the timing is wrong for me. I have too many people wing and playing victim in my life that I am not enjoying a story about someone who starts out as a victim. I'm certain it doesn't stay that way but I'm going to stop while there is still a chance I'll enjoy this book later.

BOR-RING!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how bored I am with this book. The beginning was SO intense and now I cannot stay awake. Ugh

I just cannot get into this book. The lore is weird and it feels like I've skipped a book that would help me understand.

The audiobook is well done but it's teenagers and I'm just not in the mood for teenagers/YA drama.

Convoluted. That might not be the right word for it but it's how I feel right now. The TV show is definitely better. This didn't need to be this long and this complicated. Unfortunately now I'm caught up to the flashbacks and I just needed to hurry because it feels like we've done this already

I was really looking forward to this book. So far the television show is better than the book, something I rarely say but it does happen. Jumping back and forward in time is definitely working against this book. Also dividing it into levels is annoying, even though I understand the author is doing it to clarify the timeline.

It's not even linear. And I still like it. Sometimes I think we've skipped a chapter but, nope, we haven't. And I still like it. This book (and series) is ridiculous.

I love how the women are strong for absolutely no reason at all. I love how the different supernatural entities make absolutely no sense. I don't care for the fact that the book is highly repetitive and literally says the same sentence word for word twice on one page. If it weren't written years ago I would think this book was written by AI.

This is the most absurd book series I think I've ever read. I think it actually qualifies as dumb. It also is highly confusing at times. It's funny that I love it as much as I do. You just kinda have to succumb to the complete absurdity of it.

Bored. I detest time travel and ground hog day adventures. It's probably an ok book but it's taking too long.

Chapter 30 may be the grossest sex scene I've ever read. The word choices are ridiculous

On hoopla. The book has potential but the narrator is dreadful. I appreciate that she is changing her voice for each character the voice to listen to

I really enjoyed the book the southern book club's guide to slang vampires. I'm not enjoying this one as much unfortunately. The characters are all angry, as they should be considering the time period it's set in. Unfortunately it's making me angry and it's not what I'm looking for in a book right now.

Chapter 5: great book jacket art. Awesome book title. Just cannot seem to stay focused or interested in this book. Maybe some other time

Chapter 23: this book is incredibly frustrating. It's written well and I'm sure some people love stores like this. I'm almost halfway through the book ands it's one misunderstanding after another; the main character continues to make excuses for everyone when things go wrong. I am done.

This book is amazing and also incredibly painful to read. The action and intensity remain high but it drags on for so long you start skipping sections just to get back to the storyline. There is absolutely no need to harp on every little thing. This author's got a great thing going but they need to clean up their writing and streamline this

The book was improving. Improving so much that I forgot that I was getting frustrated with the book. And here we are again. And drawn out tedious fight scene. Describe every single blow, every single role, every single turn. I don't care who dies now. It's going on too long

This may be the last book I read in this series. There's never any resolution. As soon as one problem seems to be resolved, there's another one. The suspense is never ending and I just cannot live on the edge of my seat constantly. I will get to the point where I don't care if all the characters die or live

Just like the first book, the final battle scene is going on way too long. Maintaining this intensity is impossible. I no longer care whether or not everyone lives or dies, I just want this to be over.

I don't mind when the author withholds information that can be obvious and allows us to use our brains to figure it out. However I don't appreciate the way this author refers to information as if they've already given it to us and makes this assumption. Some of this information isn't obvious. It feels like an editor hacked at this book sometimes

Don't get me wrong, I really do like this book series. With that said, I wish the author would dedicate more words to investigating grace's questions about the various supernatural species she encounters and herself and fewer words to the setting, the walls, the floor and general description of the space and repeating previously stated feelings and observations.
