While overall I had good feelings about this book, parts were annoying- most specifically Grace. I couldn’t get a feel for her age. It felt like 3 separate stories interconnected but pushed together and not one extremely well developed. I listened to this one and didn’t love the baby voice the narrator sometimes used. 3.5 ⭐️

I liked this book but it was a bit hard to follow at times with so many Hugh Fishers, lovers, wives, fiancés, pregnancies, and jumping back and forth in decades. I would say 3.5 ⭐️.

This was a long one from my want to read list. I picked it up because my grandpa served in Italy and North Africa during WWII and I wanted to get a picture of Italy during that time. Ive ready so many WWII historical fiction but not about this area. It was somewhat biographical- the author researched and spoke to the main character about his experience.

This book has been on my want to read list for quite some time and I wish I would have picked it up sooner. Historical fiction based on Sarah Grimke and her sister Angelina as they find for the rights of enslaved people. The author notes much of it was based on fact but liberties were taken. Overall enjoyable.

Marjorie Post had so much going for her, but it was not her luck of finding a good man. Poor woman. Such a socialite and amazing hostess and philanthropist.

After 28 hours of listening I still wasn’t quite ready for this one to end. I really liked the time period and felt like I was able to get to know the characters in this one.

Wow…this book. I’d heard of the LRA, but didn’t really know or understand the depth of destruction to children and communities. So sad….

What a delightful book full of so much to learn and understand about hares! I loved the details and how much the author discovered over the course of the hare’s life. I’m sure it isn’t for everyone but if you enjoy wildlife this was a sweet book.

I love learning about the women who helped to build this country. So many names were familiar, but Norah O’Donnell had much to share. The structure of the book was easy to follow with just enough detail.

Fascinating historical fiction about women who were taken against their will entered in group homes to be treated for venereal disease. They did not have. It was a hushed history for sure.

What an odd little book. I almost abandoned it in the first 30 pages but pushed through and liked it more as it went. I’m not sure who I would recommend it for. Historical fiction mixed with bizarre ghost 👻 story.

The joys of menopause sandwiched between adult children and older parents while on the annual beach vacation. A quick read with some laughter, some surprise, and some sadness. Quite enjoyable.

I don’t realize until late in the book that this book was written by the granddaughter of one of the survivors taken in by Company D. Lives the pictures at the end. This story kept me thinking about situations in today’s world and the crazy man that is our current president. I can only hope we don’t follow down the same path.

Enjoyed this multigenerational book that was based in Ohio. Fun to hear streets in Columbus I recognized. The impact of war running through each generation and the family trauma that remained on top of infidelity and unexpected relationships made it interesting.

Really enjoyed this one even thought it does the back and forth in time between ancestors thing that is annoying. This book is dealing with the Irish potato famine and a girl in New York that just had a baby.
