the hare and the hound: i actually enjoyed this a lot and think i'd read a fully developed book with this vibe of magical realism. that being said, nothing about this is dark academia.

sabbatical: i don't think i understand what the author is aiming for here. or how it's supposed to be dark academia? just because it's set in a school doesn't make it dark academia?

pythia: this was highly anticipated bc im a sucker for olivie blake. was honestly quite confusing at times but i did enjoy the techno-speculative aspect of it, similar to a black mirror episode. actually i think there might be one or a few episodes of black mirror on immortalizing your consciousness in a computer?

1000 ships: teacher/student relationship. nothing special really. i think i was so traumatized by "my dark vanessa" that this didn't really faze me. was looking at the book this was a prequel too and the ratings weren't great, so probably won't pick it up.

i knew that the whole burning at the stake thing was a myth (not that strangulation and the various methods of torture was better) but the rest of the details here are all fascinating

this is actually hilarious (and somber at the same time) i love the running commentary, relaly does make it feel like i'm listening to their podcast (which i plan to listen to)
