ugh. was reading another book at the same time...of much better quality...making this one seem utterly stupid, laughable even. :(

This has been okay so far, but lacking depth. Aside from the main character, no one else has much of a role, personality, or depth. Now that I'm about halfway through, some of the other characters are coming more alive. The story is not gripping, and it's easy enough to put down most of the time. I think the premise was really, really good, but the writing is falling quite short. Still, it's easy, and the story is ok

Loving it so far! Lovable asshole of a main character, finds himself doing the right thing for the wrong reason or by accident...fun, adventure story without the overly benign, annoyingly righteous, ridiculously self-sacrificing typical hero/heroine. Hopefully, he grows some character by the end of the book :)

I really liked Angels & Demons and the DaVinci Code, too, but less so. After the movies came out, I was sick of the subject matter and didn't read Lost Symbol. Anyway, this is still Langdon, and it's in Italy again, but so far it's more creative and differentiated from the other books. We'll see how it holds up. As the title suggests, it so far has centered around Dante's Inferno.

Not too impressed. The author comes off a bit arrogant. The story needs an editor. Unless something changes, and I'm 3/4 of the way thru, he has not conveyed any of the wonder of his experience. There is so much focus on "this is real" yet without answering how or why very well...and so little content :( I keep reading hoping it will get better.

Just as the book was starting to feel sanctimonious, the author inserted some foibles of her own. At the current page, she is making a case for the omnivore - yahoo!! Part of the argument includes bringing to light the animal deaths involved in agriculture.
