this book is incredibly raw and does not pull any punches. then you remember that this actually happened, to some extent, and you feel even worse. and THEN you remember that this kind of life was not only common, but normal...but there is a sort of humor in here, in unexpected places, too. i love the book, so far.

This whole book to me has a kind of fever-dream quality (in terms of characters interacting) that I really like and it makes for a very interesting read. The writing is amazing, too.
