Wow… over 100 pages to explain a very complicated existence. It’s mind blowing how Maas makes all of this fit together but hooley dooley, it’s taking forever to cut to the chase.

“the right leader makes all the difference” these words appeared to me the day after school started … universe is definitely trying to tell me something.

The blending of events in chapters really annoys me but otherwise it’s a pretty good story. I just wish there wasn’t so much to keep track of. Read on!

A slow read so far, chapters are quite long although action-packed. It’s very obvious that this is a debut novel. There is beautiful language and a really whimsical storyline, but there depth is lacking and any real reason to continue to invest in the characters is missing. It feels like a story where you are simply going through the motions. Reluctantly, read on!
