In chapter 9, Baek Sehee discusses her relationship with looks. I immediately went to look her up (how ironic), only to find that she passed away at 35 years old in October last year, due to circumstances her family didn’t wish to disclose. My heart dropped. I have been reading this book on and off since the summer, unknowingly switching from connecting with her, to connecting with her ghost. Rest in peace Baek.
