For example when he says:

Colored people don't like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin. Burn it. Someone's written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? The cigarette people are weeping? Burn the book.

I sympathize with the people of the south in the first two chapters of this book more than I could possibly imagine. Johnny Reb felt like they were being invaded and the aggressor was the north and Abraham Lincoln. I wonder where we’d be if John Brown hadn’t have been a martyr and the common person north sympathizing with each other over his execution. I wish we were taught both points of view in school...
