Okay so this whole time I’ve been convinced that Hideo was going to secretly be a bad guy and be manipulating Emika because they’re relationship seemed weirdly one sided to me, but after chapter 24 I’m feeling guilty for thinking that now that I know his Tragic Backstory. And I don’t think he would have shared all that with her if he was using her. Also WHAT THE ACTUAL F IS GOING ON?!?

I’m not gonna lie, the first two chapter of this book were a struggle. Chapter 1 seemed to be entirely the main character, Emika, talking about how she’s Not Like Other Girls and how tough her life has been without actually disclosing any information as to how or why. Then on a complete counterpoint chapter 2 was info-dumping to the max. It gets easier though, and I’m pretty invested now.

Here goes reread number 1!! I’m so excited to be back in this amazing world!

It is 2am. I know that I could stay up to finish this book. I want to stay up to finish this book. But I also do not want this book to end, so I am willing to draw it out for another 6 hours even though I know I will be physically incapable of sleep because of how hyped I am by this book.

I took a break from this book for like three weeks. And I’m sick and can’t sleep so decided to continue it at 2AM. And the whole first kiss reminded me of my (kinda, it’s complicated) ex and now my heart hurts. I’m straight up not having a good time my dudes.
