I read half of this in one sitting, it is so well written and I'm sure many people can benefit from this book.

I do find that the dialogue is slowing the story down--and is overwhelming the actual storyline. Was un-putdownable at the beginning so I intend to pick it up again.

Overall the book is really interesting so far--to think that 1920 was 100 years ago is pretty wild. I do notice sometimes the writing is a little clunky but so far it's keeping me curious and intrigued enough to keep reading.

I skimmed ahead really fast to see if it got better... but I feel like I don't trust the author anymore that what she is telling me is really essential or important. Since so much earlier seemed like filler that would really be important to people who know her personally. Also, more and more the books expositional, telling rather than showing. I feel let down because it started really strong. Lost the arc.

noooo. This is really going through a slump. The beginning was so strong I was jealous I didn't write this book...but then the next 100 pages were going into the author's childhood so much it was beginning to feel dull and I lost the point of the book. Seriously, at page 100 the author is only 12 at that point--nothing going on is involving the agency of the author, it all just seems to be what happened around her.

The beginning was pretty good. I didn't totally think the first sex scene was super hot though. The optics were good but it just didn't move me internally. Read some reviews of the book that give me a little pause..but it helped me validate the feeling that something is a little missing...I will probably finish it eventually but not 100% hooked as much as I want to be. Fans don't kill me please.

The jumping between characters is a lot.... I don't feel totally hooked yet and this far in that's sorta a bad sign. It's not a bad book, though. But I have to return one kindle unlimited book and I think this one might be the one to go.

I like the book in some ways, but in others it is way too intense. I'm not sure the author needed to describe everything in her life to such an extent. I'm sure she has left some things out... but it seems like she is sharing a laundry list of horrible things that happened to her, and it's like when does it end, and is there a point you are trying to make here?

I'm bailing on this book--it has way too much vampire stuff for me and frankly I can't handle it. It seems obvious she's going to be trying to get away from them for several books. Not for me.

You know, it's just not hooking me. Some of the stories are so out there, but honestly I feel like it isn't going anywhere and I'm more interested in how the person ended up growing up after all this childhood damage!

This is basically a book I'm happy to be referring to rather than reading cover to cover. I borrowed it from a library and had to own it. Amazing info.

Yes! Writing is sooooo good. Was craving something "Victorian." This has a few fantastical tweaks on the theme but in all the ways I love ^^ Such good world building

Wow. I love the way the author describes meditation-- unlike a lot of other people, he is describing the state as one without a reliance on structures or process or gurus. It is a free state disconnected from everything past, including a need to stop thought. There is just silence. It's fascinating the way he writes. I totally agree with this though.

I am not done but this is my favorite nonfiction book of 2016. I have read bits and pieces of it, especially of the Hindu thinkers. I LOVE this book, it's such a nice summary of important thinkers. I really have drawn a lot of insight from it on some spiritual topics. And I discovered some people I want to learn more about including Krishnamurti. I'm currently reading his book "Inward Revolution." Very thankful

Had a lovely meditation today but I built upon the way I have already learned to access the akashic records. If you are familiar with them and want to use them more deeply, this is a great resource.
