holy 🐮 how has every chapter so far been a major banger?! the quality increase lately has been insane!!

holy crap the chapter titled “burning love” was NOT about the characters i expected it to be... in the worst way possible...

this book is definitely an anti-romance.
(reminiscent of the poet empress, one of my favs!)

insanely well written, but not an enjoyable read AT ALL thanks to the borderline abusive tendencies of the manchild husband. he's so disgusting, especially in this chapter. gross gross gross!

continuing with "book 2" now... took a month-long break lol...

finally finished “book 1” (of the original two book split)!
took me forever… this is the longest book i’ve ever read in korean.
things are picking up now though!

jahyun is incredibly unlikeable but it takes talent to create such a disgusting character.
soru… can we PLEASE stop infantilizing her.

TLDR: good writer, interesting korean folklore + dark fantasy worldbuilding, TERRIBLE main characters

when translated, korean and japanese sentence structures tend to be "boring," monotonous, and rigid... BUT NOT 86!!

oops accidentally spoiled myself by looking up the webtoon... turns out i've tried reading the webtoon before but DNF'd it, no wonder the story felt oddly familiar

the big plot twist might not be as impactful anymore BUT i've been hating the husband so far (pedo vibes + anger issues = yuck) so i'm happy with the direction the story will take

finally continuing this book... and remembering why it put me in such a bad slump 😭
why must we compare the female lead to a child every couple paragraphs bro 😭💔 if i wanted to read about pedophiles i would read lolita or something 🤢
