I ACCIDENTALLY SAW THE CHAPTER HEADINGS FOR THE REST OF THE BOOK B/C I LOST MY PLACE AND NOW I'M DEEPLY CONCERNED WITH WHERE THIS BOOK IS HEADING AND I'M FREAKING THE HECK OUT RIGHT NOW

Buuuut according to everyone's spoiler tags there's a big plot twist so maybe not? GUYS IT IS LITERALLY KILLING ME NOT TO LOOK UP WHAT HAPPENS. This is why audiobooks and I are not a match made in heaven arghhhhhhh

So I picked this up since I'm STILL waiting for my Alanna cd to come in, and it occurs to me that this is almost definitely going to break rule #1 about audiobooks while driving: there's pretty much no way this doesn't end tragically right? So there's pretty much no way I'm going to read this without bawling my eyes out.

Also I don't find Amy a terrible person or irritating - I find her kind of endearing and can totally see where she's coming from which makes me somewhat concerned. Either she's going to show her bad side soon or I have to wonder what it says about me that so far I can relate to her

I'm almost halfway through the book now, and so far nothing that's happened has been a surprise. I don't want to sound smug, and I don't think it's been boring, I was just expecting more shock and awe because of the reviews. But then again, maybe I'll look at this a year from now and think how ridiculously wrong I am

So I'm over halfway through the book, have only just finished book 1 which seemingly has no plot which would bother me less if I liked anyone other than Alice, and from what I have gleaned from other reviews is that I only have a slim chance of enjoying anything in this book and that is book 3. I guess I'm over halfway there so I might as well finish since it has so many good reviews...

This is SO MUCH BETTER than Sag Harbor!! The world building is amazing and this narrator is hands down one of my favourites so far. I mean, Susan Denaker will probably always be queen of the narrators for me, but this narrator is awesome. And has an Irish accent. Have I ever mentioned I have a thing for Irish accents? Anyway that's not the point. The point is that I am hooked on this story.

Ohhhhh myyyyy goddddd I'm already a third of the way through the book and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. I'm getting the impression that nothing is going to happen at all in this book.

Boooooring. At times I nod my head and smile, because the author real nails down a feeling, but the other half of the time I'm trying not to roll me eyes (eyes on the road while driving always!) because it just sounds so bloody pretentious! I'm starting to believe that maybe I don't like when men write about sex less because I don't see women write about it that way, and it's just...ugh.

THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME RIGHT NOW!!!! It's the biggest downside to audiobooks - I need to know what happens RIGHT. NOW. and I still have 4 cds left! Ughhhhhhh dyingggggg

You know, for all that Percy IS an incurable prat, I do feel for him sometimes. As someone who is interested/works in fringe things compared to the rest of my family/many friends, it sucks to have what you're working on get mocked.

He's still a prat though.

This part about thinking of who he can talk to as a parental figure and finally remember he has Sirius melts me every time (...and then makes me cry. For obvious reasons.)
