A great book so far articulating God’s order in marriage and the nature of submission. Submission is the ordering your whole person to the good of your head. He also has indicated in brief a husband’s role to provide, protect, lead, and love.

This chapter was on Typology. Typology in order to be proper must meet some criteria. The type must terminate in the antitype, must be different in substance, must unfold in time, must escalate in the antitype, and others. This distinction clarifies some of the differences in Presbyterian and Baptist perspectives on the covenants.

How were people saved through a covenant not yet instituted?

This chapter laid out some of the basic methodological distinctions such as: natural and positive law, law and gospel, history and mystery, scope and simplicity. These help articulate the landscape and challenges of the task of understanding the biblical covenants.

Finished Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

This book is a tale of Sir Gawain and his quest to meet the Green Knights challenge which tests his virtue as a knight.

The story begins with the court at Camelot celebrating the Christmastide when the festivities are interrupted by a green glowing man of the Green Chapel. He challenges any man to trade blow for blow undefended. He is tried in battle, chastity, and bravery.

An entertaining poem highlighting the ideal knightly behavior of bravery in volunteering for a dreadful quest, upright devotion to God in the face of temptation, and noble loyalty.
