This book is a tale of Sir Gawain and his quest to meet the Green Knights challenge which tests his virtue as a knight.
The story begins with the court at Camelot celebrating the Christmastide when the festivities are interrupted by a green glowing man of the Green Chapel. He challenges any man to trade blow for blow undefended. He is tried in battle, chastity, and bravery.
