So addicting. Way better than any isekai of a similar nature. Funny at times and dark at times. I really like Carl, which is important to me. Lately it feels like protagonists are distinctly unlikeable, but Carl is down to earth and relateable.

Okay so still no chemistry or sexual tension, which is a bummer. I know she can write that stuff. We have the big baddie revealed and Sorinda isnt even tempted, which is also a total bummer. What's the point if you aren't a little tempted? This is fantasy, for fucks sake.

Also no 7 year old can spot an early pregnancy. I call bullshit on that.

I came here for trashy romance wrapped in feminist fantasy like her other books and somehow 90 pages in there is literally zero sexual tension between the characters who are supposed to be the romance. I feel cheated.
Also can we just stop with the 18 year old Assassin trope? Just no. It doesn't work. How hard is it to make her a grown ass woman and not a fucking teenager?

Definitely more historical fiction than fantasy. But I'm completely fascinated by this retelling of a certain part of Chinese history. It's a grim workd, but a captivating take so far.

The charm on these books is really starting to wear off for me..not because of the story itself, but because the writer has this annoying habit of trying to insert some kind of social commentary and it's just pedantic an annoying. For example, the new characters Cora. She's fat. But she's the only one who cares that she's fat. She brings up being fat every fucking page that features her. Like who gives a shit?

Nowhere close to being as good as the previous two books. The plot only starts developing about 100+ pages in, and it's a little dubious, to be honest.

This book has really grown on me. It's not as predictable a story as inthoight it might be. The author os doing a great job giving the protagonist emotional depth that the reader can really feel.

I haven't read this book in years but I remember loving it when I was a teenager. I have a taste for dark fairy tales. I remember some things but there is a lot I had forgotten so I am thoroughly enjoying the journey.

It's okay. No strong feelings about it either way.

Lool- if you are going to make creative edits to known historical figures then at least make them not so annoying.

Wtf am I reading? This is some weird historical fan-fiction. I don't have an issue with erotica but the fact that the girl is 16 and man is pushing 50 is creeping me out.

Well this is a disappointing start. PTSD, I get, but pippa has become a lying, pseudo drug addict, or at least she is on her way to it. It's pretty dark. I get being affected by what she went through but this is a little extreme for a character change. It's a little depressing. Hopefully it picks up

This really is a good mystery. I don't know why it took me so long to pick it back up. Proof that you have to be in the mood to read certain things!

Pippa rocks. She rages over injustice in a way I can definitely relate to. Her response to a certain trial verdict was epic. I really related to her fury and desire to take action.

I'm struggling with the overwhelming urge to hurl this book out into the snow for being so dumb. They finally have a solution to the curse and literally have all the thinks ready to break it but instead they are just going to wait. Wtf??? Why??? That makes absolutely no sense!!!! I'm so angry right now and I hate when writers do this and no editor thought to say this makes no sense.

Idk. This story gives me a little bit of the ick. The fact that it's based off of a true crime is hard to forget. Plus the podcaster Trinity is the kind of "true crime afficionado" that gives it a bad rep. It's not about justice for an unfinished story, it's about getting ratings for her podcast. I'm regretting starting this one.

I really like the plot of this mystery and I've gotten into the pattern of the Victorian vernacular. I do think there is a lot of "fluff" however in the dialogue. It takes people awhile to get to the point, and I'm not sure if that is intentional or just the style of this writer or what.

Geez this book is sad. So much exploitation.

I cant tell if this is supposed to by dystopian, but it's definitely going to give me nightmares.
