Loving it so far. Interesting premise and pretty quirky.

OK, here we go... This book seems kind of polarising, you either like it or you don't based on some of the reviews. I like the cover, I like the blurb, I'll give it a read and figure shit out as I go along.

Katia M. Davis is starting When She Thaws
I picked this up because at first glance it looks like an age gap / ice queen story (certainly the woman on the cover looks kind of stern), and those can be fun. It's self-published and I've never read the author before, so we'll see how I get on.

Well, so far all I can say is he's an adrenaline junkie and based on the details of his previous adventures at the start of the book (who throws stones at black bears, please tell me that's not a normal thing to do during a bear encounter?), I am not surprised he found himself in the middle of nowhere having to hack his arm off.

I feel really bad about this, but I can't get in to this one at all. I'm not really feeling any emotions for the characters, and I don't really care about them. I feel like I'm just reading actions. I want to like it, because it sounds like a good read, but it just isn't doing it for me.

This book is kind of creeping me out....the MC has the same name as me, different spelling, but that's not stopping my computer from saying my name every few mins when it reads me the ebook.

I first read this book about 17 years ago and remember it quite fondly. I'm giving it another read as a refresher and to see if my opinion of it has changed at all.

Why have I not read this book before? Far deeper than just a vampire story.

I'm struggling a bit with this at the moment. The writing style is repetitive and doesn't sit right - I'm in an 8 year old kid's head and the narrative refers to their mother as Jane? I'm not in the kid's head anymore. It's also kind of long winded. We've only just got to the point of all the lead up. Hope it gets better from here.

I've been looking forward to this read. Better get it done quick, too many things on my reading list at the moment.

Lots of stuff is happening but I'm not really invested. Might be because I've not read the others in the series, but some bits just seem boring, especially when there are long stretches of debating dialogue after a fast paced bit of action. I feel the dialogue should be snappier. Maybe just me.

I picked this up at a 2nd hand store a couple of weeks ago. I know it's towards the end of the series so far but I figured I'd give it a go for 50 pence. I don't often read shifter stuff but I've been getting into it recently. We are right onto the action on the first page with this one. There is clearly some stuff that has gone on in the previous book but I don't feel too lost for not having read it.

This might be a DNF for me. Blurb says: 'attorney', 'serial killer', 'prominent women', 'new lead investigator', 'next target', I thought: high powered courtroom drama/police procedural. The characters read like teens. They giggle/laugh until tears roll down faces and they fall on the floor. Add in descriptions of putting together a bite to eat and random conversations with a cat, it feels less drama, more sitcom.
