Sherlock Holmes uses reasoning and evidence to reach rigorous conclusions about causes of death because tuberculosis.

Just read the section on stigma and disease, and it feels like Green has a personal axe to grind or something. His prose makes it sound like any acknowledgment of a patient’s role in getting sick is a moral judgment. I’m interested to see if this comes up again, and if he tempers this position at all.

The coyness of the mystery is definitely sapping my enjoyment at this point. At times it feels like I’m reading not for the fun of it but only to find out what happened. 🙁
