Donut's anxiety is definitely adding to my anxiety of what is coming.

She’s so right about everything.

This is going better this time. I tried it several years ago and our newly awfully world was feeling too new and the trauma too fresh. This time this seems helpful. And boy, she can write.

Growing sense of dread….but also laugh out loud funny. Then dread. Then chuckles. Then dread again.

I'm really trying not to gobble this up too fast. Pacing myself. Also, rising sense of dread for the characters.......

Yes I’m devouring fluff! Random thoughts: Monarchies are such an idiotic social construct. The queer romance in this book is by far the most interesting one.

Yesssssss I’m gobbling up this romantasy trilogy. 🙄

(((Sigh))) I can't help but thinking 1. They would do better to just let the women run everything, 2. Why do fantasy books consistently put women in long, flowing, cumbersome dresses with restrictive corsets/necklines and impractical silk fabrics? Just so they can tear the hems in the woods. (Roll eyes)

My goodness. This book is a freaking DELIGHT. Just when you think it can’t get between, a fat cat! Then….parrots! Oh my word. Inject me into this story, please.

I honestly don't remember putting this on my kindle or where I heard about it. But there it is. Started it and quickly realized it begins in a women's prison in Maine in a book club. Oh this sounds like it could be dreadfully trite. But wait.....no.....OK, this seems better written than I thought. Though I'm pretty sure we can all see where it's going.....

This is set in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, so it’s kind of a pre-trip homework book. The first chapter was a rough one, but I got through it and now 👍🏼

I don't know, guys. I know everyone loves this book, but it's not grabbing me yet. Backman always skates the edge for me between heart-warming and eye-rolling, and this on the eye-rolling side so far. Or is it just my bitter heart? :)

Holy hell. This book is scaring me.
