Didn't get it done before the new year rolled in. Drat!

Oh this is a fun one!

Peaceful bedtime reading about my dental robot in Ypsilanti (who knew!), and trying to guess which movies he is watching.

OK, not as scary as I was fearing. Even read it at bedtime last night and all good. :)

OK, I can handle this. Also, it might be brilliant.

Holy smokes, this might be too scary for me! LOL

Ken Follett, thank you for consistently being a strong voice for the power of feminine leadership. Some of these male leaders in this book just gotta go.

Classic Ken Follett. I am confident all will turn out well for the characters in the end, though he will drag my emotions through the mud a few times in the meantime. Enjoying the strong and central female characters. Learning about Stonehenge (which I didn't care much about so almost skipped this book) and am enjoying it.

The writing is "fine", nothing great, but holy smokes the story is something else. Looking at the dates and realizing how recently this all happened....

I don't think he's artistically the most gifted writer, but he does find some really interesting true stories to tell. Giving this one a go and actually pretty excited because it starts out in the Sudan (where I once lived).

I think this book is working for me because it's getting cold, so a book with lots of hot tea and hot baths, or watching tv with a mouse asleep on your leg is seeming cozy and A-OK now that the weather here is suddenly chilly.

This is turning out to be a delightful palate cleanse. :)

I am feeling so very, very sorry for all the recent history the Vietnamese people have had to endure.
