24 pages in: it’s perfect. there’s never been anything better. i’m pretty illiterate nowadays

i keep finding myself in these book clubs for all of these tomes. already, even by just page 21, i know la recherche is special. reading in tandem with the original french version, but i’m stupid and anglo (oh mon dieu…)

already, by the first page, it’s indicated that this will be a 5-star read. not to pit women against each other or anything, but finally reading lispector makes me despise plath. i was scrolling on reels at ema’s house, where i am cat-sitting their cat who i keep losing, and i saw a post from some montreal magazine: “performative reading from 3-7 at parc lafontaine”. i live next to the park. should i go?
