I'm not a fantasy reader. I tried this because my daughter recommended it to me. I tried and the author did a good job of writing this book, but fantasy is not my cup of tea. So, although it says, "I'm finished," I stopped reading it and moved on to more realistic, plausible commercial fiction and literary fiction.

Not only did I read this very well written book, but I sent it to a young friend of mine struggling with alcoholism. This book so poignantly captured the denial and the rationalization of an alcoholic set in the beautiful Pureta Rican Island. This story shines a light on women in the military and the aftereffects of serving while at war resulting in ptsd. I highly recommend this book.

I'm loving learning about Terry Cline via this book.
