Okay. Getting used to the Spanish. Still thrown by the made-up words though it's getting easier to just mentally shrug and move on.

The story is interesting so far. But stumbling over all the Spanish is taking me right out of it. My brain doesn't handle multiple languages well and it makes reading very disjointed. I can get some of the language from context. But.. other words and phrases.. I don't know. I get that bilingual people often flip back and forth when speaking. So it's authentic and that's great. It's just rough reading for me.

Yorda is infinitely more interesting than Ico. Yet I still find myself incredibly bored. It's been a great help to my insomnia, though (no sarcasm here at all).

Went into this book mostly blind. It's.. boring? I'm not attached to any of the characters and it feels like I'm just reading pages and pages of a tour through an abandoned castle: this room is round, look! a chandelier, there's a bridge. The "Big Bad" isn't scary or even.. ominous. I feel like this was probably a really great game (if it was an exploring/puzzle game) but as a novel.. it's.. hard to get through.

I blame Lainey. Somehow I don't think I'm going to get anything done today besides reading this book.

It's such a relief to be reading a truly *good* book with characters that I love again.

why is this book so good?! i have other things i need to be doing.. but.. can't. put. the book. down!

Okay. Past the slump. Not sure if it was me or the book but we're all good now.

I... don't like Arch. At all. I find the sections about him (in this and the previous book) tedious to read. Why is it bothering me so much in this book?
