Very fun read so far! Obviously the author is making a lot of statements on environmental rights and Western (and Chinese) exploitation of third-world resources, but it's not by any means over-handed and the characters make it a lot of fun.

I was going over this book together with someone else as part of some "leadership development". However, it has nothing to do with leadership and little to do (at least so far) with redemption and grace in Jesus. So, I'm not going to read it through to the end.

An excellent book so far... full of great overviews and explanations in each of its chapter topics and also some great insight towards a Christian response to popular folk beliefs/concerns.

Off to a bit of a slow start and an epic-ly long "prologue". Hopefully it'll pick up the pace though.

The story is better and generally more plausible now than the way it started out. The general ideas and themes are valuable and worth thinking about, but the dialogue is often as shallow as is common to too much Christian writing.

I've immensely enjoyed this book so far. Though incredibly short and fast-moving between each chapter, there are some powerful thoughts to give me lots of pause and thinking. A great affirmation of Christian leaders to follow in Christ's character. Very different from the power-hungry worldly leanings of many Christians or leadership books I've read. Excited to read more.

Not off to an exceptional start. I feel like he proof-texts many of the Bible verses he's used so far to apply to stuff that's likely inaccurate. He's showing a very obvious "Reformed"/Calvinistic leaning, one where he feels the need to prove people guilty, and it's certainly not very helpful to my Christian relationship so far. Maybe it's intended for non-Christians who think they're great? Maybe it'll improve.

Getting to be more of the same old, same old, and a bit boring. Not that I expected more than that though. Actually, it's still a little better than I expected.

I'm still enjoying this series. Though the writing is somewhat mediocre, the characters and plot devices keep changing often enough that it draws me in. It's enjoyable enough to continue like a decent TV show, but doesn't have the poetic finality of a good movie (like LOTR).

Still fairly mediocre writing in parts (lots of unnecessary repetition) and the plot devices are a bit hokey, but it's still interesting and the action scenes are fairly exciting.

Well, the plot is still marginally intriguing and the writing is still fairly mediocre, especially in terms of characterization and motivation. It's like the author's trying too hard or something. But I'll keep reading to the end, I'm sure.

Somehow I got this book for free. It's starting off interesting and intriguing enough, but the writing's not necessarily great quality. Many descriptive bits are way overdone and redundantly repeated, and the dialogue also seems contrived and fake. We'll see if the quality picks up though, and at least the intro is still interesting and intriguing.

Off to a good start. It's cool to see how his story in the book starts when it was about the last time I saw him.

I'm enjoying the book quite a bit, but I'm surprised that the title has very little relation to the content... since the "Dragon Reborn", Rand, is rarely featured in the book at all and I'm nearly finished with it.

I'm enjoying it so far. I think the writing is improving by now. And although the book is off to a gloomy start, I think it helps set the suspense, and follows naturally in the plot anyway.

Overall I enjoyed this book a lot, though his writing style left a little to be desired. Still, I don't see the major controversy in it that others have seen.

I really enjoyed the last chapter - the one that points out how God's consideration of us is always the same, but the primary difference is whether or not we trust God and accept his love, if we think we *deserve* it or *don't deserve* it when the reality is that God loves us regardless. The issue of "deserving" God is just keeping our eyes on us, rather than on him. This is what Rob Bell calls "Hell".

Off to a very intriguing start. I caught some of the main plot device a little before it was revealed (but not much before) and it's really leaving me wondering where it's going to go and what we'll find out is really behind it all. Very intriguing! Thanks Brad Smith for recommending / sharing it!
