Judith is starting The Keeper (Cal Hooper, #3)
I usually love any story that takes place in Ireland. This book is number three in a trilogy and the only one that I’ve read all I can say is that it was OK. It was too long and the writing is too small for me. I guess I would give it three stars.

Judith is starting The Irish Goodbye
I usually love any books that are about Ireland or it’s People and this one was no different. I really enjoyed all the characters. The story of this family and it secrets was very interesting to me.

Judith is starting The Tell: A Memoir
It was excellent. It gave such insight into what a person who has been raped goes through psychologically throughout her life. I found it fascinating and heart wrenching. It was well written and I’m not usually a memoir reader, but this kept me interested and almost feeling what she experienced.

Judith is starting The River Is Waiting
This section of the book is less emotional in many ways but it does explore the road to redemption.

I read 100 pages today and don’t know how much longer I can read this book. It’s beautifully written but so emotionally intense that I find it hard to keep going.

Very hard to read. Im struggling to get to the end. The story of a Catholic reform school for supposedly wayward girls tells a gruesome tale of punishing, cruelty by the nuns, and lost dreams. I’m at a point, where redemption may be found for these girls. I think I’ll be happy to be done with this book. It’s so totally different from what Susan Wiggs usually writes.

Hard to read. My heart breaks for these girls made to live at the Home of the Good Shepherd, which is a Catholic reform school controlled by the Sisters of Charity. I’ll keep reading until I can’t take anymore.
