Hard to read. My heart breaks for these girls made to live at the Home of the Good Shepherd, which is a Catholic reform school controlled by the Sisters of Charity. I’ll keep reading until I can’t take anymore.

Very hard to read. Im struggling to get to the end. The story of a Catholic reform school for supposedly wayward girls tells a gruesome tale of punishing, cruelty by the nuns, and lost dreams. I’m at a point, where redemption may be found for these girls. I think I’ll be happy to be done with this book. It’s so totally different from what Susan Wiggs usually writes.

Nearly done and up to the good part and how resilient and strong most of the girls turned out.

I just finished the book and highly recommend it. It is based on a true story that is heart wrenching. It was written beautifully by Susan Wiggs and I’m so glad I didn’t stop reading it.
