oh the bright side this book is amazing

sciona freynan reminds me a lot of fang runin. only time will tell if this is a good thing or not

it’s gotten to the point where i despise this book and just want it to be done but im am so close (allegedly) to finishing

i’ve mentioned before and i will mention again. saeris needs more female friends. it feels like every male character is either in love w her or related to her and every female character hates her (except for te lena who’s married and doesn’t show up often and everlayne who was missing all of last book and unconscious in this one). why doesn’t callie hart know how to write female friendships

lowk… kinda over this book. while different perspectives may be fun for some for me? not it. like each time i read saeris pov it takes me a min to remember what’s going on with her and by time i catch up and invested? it switches to fisher. then i have to remember what he’s doing, get invested, want to know more and the it switches again. idk. i read book that switch povs before and didnt mind but not this one

i will say this book has rlly piqued my interest. i mean from the get go, “everything the government tells u is propaganda” is crazy cause of course looking at an outside perspective it is easy to see they live under an authoritarian regime that is obviously bad but through misaki & hyori’s convo, how would they know its bad they know nothing different. i’m intrigued. anyways

okay i will say the magic system is kinda hard to understand or maybe just general lore. also the world the book is based on no longer exists so there’s that

okay i lied i don’t want a happy romance book into the (probably) depressing war book i go

this book better be fun i need some joy and happiness rn

every time i lose interest there a backstory w grim so i will keep reading for now.

maybe im being too harsh but i feel like isla has overcommitted herself and it will hurt wilding, starling and nightshade in the long run. like she went from having no powers and not even ruling her own realm to now having wilding, starling, and nightshade powers? and she fired terra & poppy but she doesn’t even know how to rule? and now rules over two realms? and not to mention whatever is going on w her and oro.
