Love the assonance and sibilance in “Election Year”

It’s a drag.

I’m not compelled by the prose, I find myself skipping parts to get to the point faster

Too much inferiority in moments where it’s not needed to give the reader too much information that we don’t necessarily need all at once

I’m skipping over whole entire paragraphs of over exposition. It has good bones and a good story idea, I just can’t get over the WattPad-like writing. The author should have either hired a developmental editor or gone through at least another round of edits with Beta readers

3 chapters of filler content. And why do I have to be told the SAME thing in 17 different fonts??

I just finished chapter 1. It is 9 audio tracks of absolutely nothing else but useless and repetitive backstory which has officially made me loathe this book. If this author had a good editor they would have told her to cut this shit out and spread it through the rest of the story instead of info-dumping all over the page. The only reason I'm gonna finish it is because I paid for it and I refuse to waste money.
