Just finished reading the best written "f*ck you and f*ck the f*cking horse you rode on" I've encountered for a long while.
Mrs Proudie the abhorrent demi-Bishop needed this slap on her over interfering face.
Rev Crawley knows his duties, he needs no handling from a slimy self appointed non sanctioned ecclesiastical despot.

So far interesting, Moist is shady.

It's so un-putdownable. Learning more about each of the wives and their stories is so engrossing.

It's unlike the Murakamis I've read so far, but interesting.

Some of the stories are very...out there. In a likeable way.

A delightful reread

Famous, oft referenced even in Indian lit, this is a good read. Fleshed out characters, absorbing story, descriptive. Can't put it down, it's so well written.

UGH. Just...I think this is the only book that I intensely dislike as I'm reading it, but I want to do it justice and read it with a positive light.
Jane is so incredibly verbose, Bronte seems to be directly speaking through her, which is fine but for an 18 year old who has barely seen the world apart from ill-treatment at her aunt's home and the Lowood school, she spouts too much. It's completely unrealistic.

It's funny, Capt Vimes is all of us, and Carrot, well Carrot is punctilious.

It's so far pretty boring and not very well written. There is nothing appealing about the lead and the romantic interest. The author doesn't seem to know Irish customs or atmosphere well, it's as if they read it somewhere else in a book. The most interesting character is a woman who used to be a dancer but left that for her family and is now a housekeeper. I want HER story

Love the writing. Mystery still unsolvable. Good read
