I was just getting into it when it got to the Negev section... Two questions arose. 1.Has the author considered why so many species (including turtles) are critically endangered in this region? (It's not because of bomb defusing martyrdom but rather the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements into the natural landscape.) 2.Why is this chapter so brutally and jarringly unbalanced?

of course i skipped ahead to read the lottery first but the daemon lover was the secret surprise that i have liked most so far. some kind of weak endings, though I like the premises of the stories generally 👍
