Currently, there is this one quote that I found amazing, If rest of the book is that good, I am beyond excited.

"The process of intimacy is the process of becoming better at inviting others in to have a look around. The sensation of loneliness is the crushing acknowledgment that, however good you get at giving such invitations, no one will be able to see very much at all. "

"Thinking is listening to yourself. It's difficult. To think, you have to be at least two people at the same time. Then you have to let those people disagree. Thinking is an internal dialogue between two or more different views of the world. True thinking is complex and demanding. It requires you to be an articulate speaker and careful, judicious listener, at the same time. It involves conflict."

I like the idea of always telling the truth or at least not lying. The subtleness of this sentence is astonishing. They are different, but we often use them interchangeably. Fascinating.

First deal with yourself and your home. Set it in order. I agree. How can one think clearly, if nothing in their life is clear and organized.

Do not let your children do what makes you dislike them. I enjoyed reading about punishing and disciplining your children. It doesn't have to be harsh. Use minimal force to enforce the rule, but I definitely agree, the backbone for a parent is essential.

Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone is today.

I agree. I need to be forgiving to myself when I have a hard time being consistent. Consistency wins and helps to create discipline. I'm still struggling to find balance, but I am closer than I was yesterday. That is for sure.

Rule 1: Stand up straight with your shoulders back.
Rule 2: Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping.
Rule 3: Make friends with people who want the best for you. Quite self-explanatory.
Rule 4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.

Fascinating analysis of crabs as well as masculinity and femininity. One of the positive elements about Dr.Peterson is that his thoughts are well articulated and you can track it to the root. Allows me to think deeply what I believe in. Which I have yet to do.

It is sad to read about how our systems aren't properly designed and how, if pushed into the system, you are constantly pulled deeper and deeper into it--criminalized ubiquitously.

Disadvantaged people try, they really do, but the system is too quick and too strong to oppress them down immediately.

It feels like there is no escape. Situations described sound hopeless and pointless endeavors.

"Not only literature but language itself thrives as it makes connections with other languages."

Isolated languages will be eventually worn out, according to the author. It is true to an extent, too. We learn so much from other languages, we are constantly evolving and we help other languages do the same.

Wearing masks in everyday life is rather important to understand. I believe it is more prevalent in collective cultures like Japan.
