So far, this fascinating novel has been an extremely timely lesson in the complicated history of part of the world once again looming large in geopolitics. Of course, I’m not sure which parts are actual fact/which are poetic license, but I’ll have to look into that later because somehow my book club is meeting less than a week from now (this year is flying by too quickly!) and I need to start reading much faster!
