Not sure how to rate this book. Very scenic and special but so many holes. I was left confused and disenchanted. The romance and relationships were lacking and cold. I couldn’t feel the characters. I only enjoyed the world we were introduced to and how the story was woven into one. I would give 2.5 stars, if I could.

The story showed promise. There were some gaps in its unfolding. I appreciated the twists and turns. I didn’t appreciate the blatant disdain for a certain people group. I am not sure if this wasn’t the author’s own feelings emerging from her main character. That, to me, was wildly distracting. The ending felt rushed. I was left disappointed in its outcome. The book was vibrant in scene but lazy in its telling.

This book is really scary.
