Wheewwww is this a tough one to get through. Not only is it dense, but it is dark. I didn't realize this was historical fiction so the events that take place (minus the supernatural bits) are all accurate and terrible. Jones is a wonderful writer but I'm struggling with his prose a bit in this one.

I am listening to the audiobook at this time. The narrater is great!

The stakes are rising!

the time jumps have been interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up but I thoroughly enjoyed The Only Good Indians so I've had high expectations.

I'm diving into the audiobook. I figured now was a good time to start my spooky season reads! I've been looking forward to this one for awhile.

Took a little break on reading this while I try to get through a few other books. Honestly, it's not captured me the same was Black's other books have and I'm struggling to get through it.

I am so thrilled to have received an ARC of this. It's been a real privilege to be one of Ophelia's ARC readers. So far I'm enjoying this book. I'm excited to see how this series will conclude.

Listening to the audiobook between my physical reads and it's been another fun read. I'll read/listen to anything Broadbent writes.

This reminds me of The Only Good Indians which I previsouly enjoyed.

I really enjoyed Leave Me Behind but this one has been a bit slow for me. I'm not sure if I'll continue to book two once I finish this.

I figured now was the right time to finally start this one with The Odyssey being out. I loved Circe, had heard this one would make me cry...so I've been putting it off for a long while.

nope. I don't believe it. there is a third book its going to be fine...

I'm happy that I was wrong about who killed Kidan's parents. Also love the twist about where the artifacts are. My heart broke for Slin until it didn't What a snake.

I'm 80% sure Sus is the one who actually killed Kidan's parents. Obviously he never hurt June, but the house still took from him. And I think he is going to betray Kidan at the end when he gets all the artifacts/ or to get all the artifacts. Maybe he even kills June to get what he wants.

THE FIREPLACE?! My heart.

This is one of the best series to date. January can't come fast enough for the third book.

I love that this picks up EXACTLY where it left off. I've had the physical book for awhile but have been wanting to get off the waitlist for the audiobook because the first was so well done. Absolutely worth the wait!

I’m going to make a guess that Syd and Kincaid know each other. That her dreams are flashbacks- along with the ghosts and such she is seeing. The conversation he had with Everly leads my to believe this isn’t Syd’s first experience with them and or being in the island.

I'm very intrigued to see what the author has in mind. I've had a hard time putting this book down despite the first 2-3 chapters being a bit slow. I am hooked!

I might switch to the physical book so I can finish this one but so far it's pretty good. I wish I hadn't waited so long to pick this series up again as I'm finding I'm not enjoying it the same way I did the first book. It's still interesting, I think perhaps I'm just in a lull.

I started this yesterday afternoon and stayed up until til 1:30A. If I didn't have work today I probably would have stayed up another hour to finish it. I've really enjoyed it and appreciate the authentic Celtic and Gaelic language, lore, and culture. It's refreshing!

I'm half way through and I hate to say it.. but I am not enjoy this. It is so....so slow going. I'm going to give it another couple of chapters but this might be a DNF.
