I figured out my issue with this book.

It’s interesting but opposite of what I expected from a book about apologetics.

Rather than defending core Christian beliefs this book is attacking secular beliefs and discussing why they conflict with Christian ones.

Feels a little more political than I was expecting. Somewhat disappointing. Still like the concept but not loving the execution of the book. Will probably still finish it.

“In motherhood, a woman mimics the grand narrative of redemption, as she tastes a thousand deaths to give the child life day in and day out”

Overspiritualizing much?

So far agreeing with many of the 2-3 star reviews. Not what I was expecting. Repetitive. Not necessarily encouraging about motherhood specifically. Mostly just explaining the gospel over and over.

Probably will finish because it’s short. But not leaning towards recommending it.

Honestly so far it’s just made me scared. Hoping the rest of the book is somewhat more comforting😅

Surprisingly loving this book. M is for Mama was okay imo. This book is already 10x better. Much needed positive, Christian perspective on motherhood.

Disappointed that the book seems to be written exclusively about grief related to death of a loved one. Was hoping for more of a wider perspective on grief. Still helpful but not what I was looking for.

Good to be reminded of how every moment of parenting is an opportunity to share the gospel or display the goodness and grace of the Father to our kids.

Only disappointment so far is that it seems to be written under the assumption that your children are not believers. I’m hoping there more on how this changes once they are.
